[edit]

Battle of Tokaj took place in 1527, not 1526. Fixed.

Someone put that image back, the page looks retarded without his picture. I mean, come on, how are people who have not read this page supposed to know how such a famous and powerful player in European politics of his time looked like? Seriously, deleting that picture was irresponsible.-Alex,12.203.169.18603:36, 30 April 2006 (UTC).[reply]

There's a bot that goes about deleting images without copyright information. It's all very irritating - the chances that anyone is going to complain about an image of a painting of a 16th century monarch are so slim as to make it ridiculous to go about deleting the image.john k07:42, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That said, I'm not clear that the image in question was actuallyof Ferdinand I. It may have been an image of his like-named son, since it comes from a site of suitors to Elizabeth I, and it was Ferdinand's son, not Ferdinand himself, who was a suitor to Elizabeth.john k07:44, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Titles Ferdinand I. ref.

[edit]

On January 1 1527 Cetinski Sabor elected Ferdinand, Archduke of Austria as the king of Croatia. The charter signed by Croatian nobles and representatives of Ferdinand of Habsburg (Pavao Oberstain, Nikola Jurišić, Ivan Katzianer and Ivan Pichler) Charter is preserved inState Archives in Vienna[1]. In return Archduke Ferdinand promised to help Croatia to defend itself from Ottoman invaders and to respect rights, freedoms, laws and customs of Croats.

Title

[edit]

Just thought that if you put 'King of Croatia' from a certain date and that date is not in the source then it could be incorrect. Also do we need a full list of his more minor titles in the lead? He was Holy Roman Emporer we can have a look at his other titles in the article. Oh and the two IP edits are mine in case anyone is wondering.Polargeo (talk)08:49, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Council of Trent

[edit]

Apparently he once tried to sabotage the first part of theCouncil of Trent. See notes inDiego_Laynez#Third_Period.Student7 (talk)02:42, 20 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
