This new page for the ephrin-A5 ligand has been redirected from the previously existingEFNA5 page, which is technically only the name for the gene that encodes the ephrin-A5 ligand. The information that was previously contained on the EFNA5 page has been updated to include relevant information about the ephrin-A5 ligand and its ability to initiate reverse signaling promotes. The relatively well-studied effects of ephrin-A5 reverse signaling on growth cone survival and the functional implications these have on the formation of the retinotopic map were also included to create a more complete page on the specific functions of the ephrin-A5 ligand.
