There's not enough here to justify three separate start-class articles that overlap almost 100%. Let's merge and look in future at whether any specific aspect needs a sub-article. --VSerrata 12:35, 5 April 2007 (UTC) See alsoDark figure of crime which I'm thinking is probably worth keeping as a sub-article onperceptions of crime statistics. --VSerrata12:41, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
All these field make attempts to produce statistics, ans some are very successfull.
The UN crime stat link (http://www.unodc.org/unodc/en/crime_monitoring_surveys.html) has stopped working. I am not sure exactly what content it originally pointed to so I can't fix it myself, sorry.Ttk11 (talk)20:15, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The "crime indices" link just redirects back to the same page. It would be nice if crime index would be defined better, too.--76.203.216.147 (talk)15:49, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Footnote 2 (van Dijk) appears to have been "graffitied". The link is to a paper called "Criminal Victimisation inInternational Perspective". Do you have a way of knowing who made the alteration?78.86.166.221 (talk)14:39, 15 August 2011 (UTC) Nigel.[reply]
Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link onCrime statistics. Please take a moment to reviewmy edit. If necessary, add{{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add{{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

I struggle to figure out the definition of "crime rate". Normally crime rate seems to be "crimes per population", but some dictionaries define it as "crimes per time" in an area. Trump mentioned Sweden in a speech - and in Sweden "crimes pr 1000 population" is going down while "crimes pr time" is going up. (See:Immigration_and_crime#Sweden). The articleList of United States cities by crime rate even lists "Crime rates per 100,000 people" - which I understand as "crimes pr 100000 people" . (?) Is there a difference here between definitions in UK and US, or do people working with crime and people working with language use different definitions?Markuswestermoen (talk)12:29, 23 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Would like to the facts about all of races that committed crimes like white on black, black on white, and black on black this is nothing to do with race it’s about the facts what race commits the most crime I know it’s touchy but the facts should be brought the attention of all races fact2601:8D:8680:8E80:58AA:E1DA:E6BD:3289 (talk)22:25, 28 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Might 'property' crime rates not simply correlate with the falling real value of property? Less costly, less valuable household goods make burglary, theft, shoplifting etc less profitable, and less attractive.49.186.96.182 (talk)22:49, 24 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
