Accidents/incidents

In July of 2006, a Condor 767 flying from Frankfurt DE to Orlando, FL USA had to make an emergency landing in Tampa, FL. This was caused by a number of reasons. The day that this flight was landing, Orlando had seen a series of very bad weather, halting flights. This caused other flights to be backed-up creating congestion. The Condor flight was forced to circle in the air until the other flights have landed. After flying all the way from Germany, it had low fuel and could not circle any longer. The pilot made the decision to land in the nearby Tampa airport. Condor Flugdienst →Condor (airline) – Though "Condor Flugdienst GmbH" is the airline's official name (see e.g.[1]), the full name isobscure andrarely used in practice. TheWP:COMMONNAME by far is "Condor", and "Condor (airline)" would be more recognizable to readers than the current title.feminist (talk)14:31, 12 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ownership

Hi - Condor has not yet been acquired byLOT Polish Airlines. There are major hurdles yet to be surmounted: this is not a done deal and unlikely to be completed before April 2020. At least one editor has been edit-warring and trying to present this as a done deal. The company remains owned by Thomas Cook Group until the deal is approved by anti-trust authorities worldwide.Dormskirk (talk)12:04, 25 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There may be a lack of understanding of UK insolvency law here. In a liquidation the assets remain the assets of the company, under the control of the liquidator, until such a time as they have been sold or the liquidation is complete. An update on this: the German anti-trust authorities have given their approval: (SeeGerman approval). My understanding is that other approvals are still awaited. This edit warring editor seems to have moved to the article onPolish Aviation Group and is again trying to present the acquisition of Condor by Polish Aviation Group / LOT Polish Airlines as a done deal. My understand remains unchanged i.e. that the deal has fallen through.
