This article needs a clean-up: the first paragraph in particular is extremely awkwardly worded.

"The lack of community together with rising unemployment and crime saw the deterioration of the scheme back almost to the slum conditions it had been designed to replace" is hyperbole in: I've lived Castlemilk, and bas as it was at times, I think comparison to the pre-war Gorbals is pretty fatuous.86.0.203.12016:42, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds dubious to me too. More acceptable might be to say that Castlemilk had earned itself a similar reputation to that which the gorbals had at the time. I also think it's odd that there's no acknowledgement of other problems besides bad planning. The population of the gorbals had many problems such as unemployment, poor health and education, crime and raging substance abuse. These problems don't just go away when you move them to a suburb. Castlemilk was never built for the benefit of the residents, only to get rid of them from the city centre. If I could research all this for my Standard Grade History project 13 years ago then I'm sure somebody here can do better than this current article.

Secondly what thisChateau Lait nonsense?? Must have been a student/West end joke. I lived in King's Park for 7 years and saw Castlemilk from my bedroom window every day and my Dad was minister of a Castlemilk church. I never heard any nickname besidesCastlemanky. --JamesTheNumberless16:49, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

chateau lait is typical black hummor. get a life.

I'm going to add local amenities like the Castlemilk Pensioner Action Centre, GSERA, The Jeely Piece Club, The Simon Homeless Centre etc. as and when I have more details/timeScott Lyon10:28, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
