@Wakantanka: became a Wikipedian in 2006 (I am slightly senior, maybe 2005). TheWP:COI rules have become much fuller and more explicit since then, and we are now "strongly discouraged" from editing articles about ourselves. It's worth readingthis page, not all of it, but the sections headed "External roles and relationships" and "Citing yourself".
