Takeover Roc Nation was an American-British entertainment company, which acts as a co-owned subsidiary ofTakeover Entertainment andRoc Nation. It was founded in June 2010 by American rapper and entrepreneurShawn "Jay-Z" Carter and English rapper and entrepreneurKwasi "Tinchy Stryder" Danquah III of the company, Takeover Entertainment Limited.[1] The partnership was dissolved in 2013 with the shutdown of Takeover Entertainment.[citation needed]

History

In June 2010, Carter and Roc Nation signed ajoint venture deal with Danquah's company, Takeover Entertainment Limited, to create aEuropean record label and entertainment company. The independent record label was named Takeover Roc Nation. It handledmanagement, merchandise, records and live bookings for itsrecording artists. The company published music throughTakeover/Cloud 9, distributed record releases throughSony Music Entertainment and partnered withLive Nation,StarRoc/Stargate[2] and Three Six Zero Group[3] for all other aspects of the business.[1][4][5][6]

Takeover Roc Nation was headquartered at Danquah's Takeover Entertainment recording studio, inNorwich andLondon, UK with satellite offices at Carter's recording studio inLos Angeles, and Roc the Mic, in Manhattan, New York City, United States.[1] In 2013, the joint venture dissolved as so Takeover Entertainment.[citation needed]
