Taio (Nones:Tai) was acomune (municipality) inTrentino in the northernItalian regionTrentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, located about 30 kilometres (19 mi) north ofTrento. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,694 and an area of 11.3 square kilometres (4.4 sq mi).[1] It was merged withCoredo,Smarano,Tres andVervò on January 1, 2015, to form a new municipality,Predaia.[2]
Taio borders the following municipalities:Coredo,Denno,Nanno,Sanzeno,Tassullo,Ton,Tres andVervò.
Taio included the village of Segno, which is the birthplace of Jesuit missionaryEusebio Kino.
