Owen Ellis Owen (22 November 1935 – 26 August 2021), known asTaffy Owen, was an internationalspeedway rider from Wales.[2][3]
Owen rode in thetop tier of British Speedway from 1965 to 1977, riding for various clubs.[4] He made his debut forBelle Vue Aces in 1965.[5]
In 1968, he finished 5th in the league averages during the1968 British League Division Two season, riding forBelle Vue Colts. He continued to score heavily throughout his career hitting a 8+ average forWorkington Comets from 1974 to 1976.[2][6]
His last season in British speedway was withNewcastle Diamonds in the1977 National League season.[7]
