Tafarn-y-Gelyn is a small village in the east ofDenbighshire, North EastWales. Situated nearLlanferres, at the foot ofMoel Famau, just off theA494 road halfway betweenRuthin andMold.

Tafarn-y-Gelyn (225m) is the start of the oldcoach roadBwlch Pen Barras across theClwydian Range, betweenMoel Famau andMoel Fenlli. This was the original road from the Vale of Clwyd to Mold before the advent of the A494.
