Taeniopterygidae are a family ofstone flies with about 110 described extant species. They are commonly calledwillowflies orwinter stoneflies and have aholarctic distribution. Adults are usually smaller than 15 mm.[1]
The genusTaeniopteryx is in the subfamily Taeniopteryginae, and the remainder of the extant genera are in the subfamily Brachypterainae.[2][3]
