Tabora Deaf-Mute Institute was founded in 1963 by theRoman Catholic Mission inTabora,Tanzania.[1] It was the first school for the deaf in Tanzania.[2]

Its programming is aimed atschool-age children.[3]

The building was designed by Dutch architectAntoni Folkers.
