Tabbanine Mosque also known as Sidi Jaafar Mosque (Arabic:مسجد سيدي جعفر), is an oldmosque in themedina of Tunis inTunisia. It was built by the hafsid SultanUthman.[1]

Etymology

It got its name from the hay (Arabic:تبن) sellers who used to settle around it.[2]

Localization

The mosque can be found in 21 Bab Lakouas Street inBab Souika suburb.

History

It was built during theHafsid era, following the orders of SultanUthman in 1487.
