TOK Coachlines (formerlyCan-ar Coach Service[1][2]) is a scheduled and chartered coach operator in theGreater Toronto Area, It is a division of Tokmakjian Inc., a privately held Canadian corporation operating as TOK Group based inVaughan, Ontario. A related division of TOK Group isTOK Transit which operates public transit services under contract to municipalities.
Can-ar Coach was established in 1983 when Travelways Incorporated, a Thornhill-based bus operator founded in 1976, was sold by Larry Needler (co-owner with several other partners).[citation needed]
Both TOK Coachlines and TOK Transit originally operated as Can-ar Coach Service.[2][3][4]
TOK Coachlines operates a scheduled bus route toPearson Airport andVaughan Metropolitan Centre station fromSouthampton viaKincardine. A service fromLindsay andHaliburton ended in 2024.[citation needed]
TOK Transit operates public transit bus service under contract forYork Region Transit,[5] and forFort Erie Transit.[6]

Can-ar used to operate a fleet of over 75 transit buses, owned byYork Region Transit, under an extension of the contract under which it operatedVaughan Transit for the City of Vaughan.
TOK Coachlines: Formerly Can-ar, offers scheduled, custom and package tours
Earlier this week, TOK Transit, a subsidiary of Tokmakjian Inc., was awarded a four-year contract to operate York's northern routes.
A major remaining issue in the dispute is the fate of 92 striking workers at First Student, which lost the contract with York Region less than two weeks ago. Local 1587 will be taking legal steps to have the new contractor, Tokmajian-Can-Ar, hire the former First Student workers.
Fort Erie Transit is administrated by the Corporation of the Town of Fort Erie. Our Operator is Tokmakjian Inc. aka TOK Group. TOK Group has been providing transit in Fort Erie since 2012.
