Szentborbás (Croatian:Brlobaš) is the southernmost village ofSomogy county,Hungary.Krancsevicza-puszta is part of the village.
It is located near theRiver Drava, 32 km southeast ofBarcs, on the border ofSomogy andBaranya County. A significant part of the town's outskirts is part of theDuna-Dráva National Park.
TheEuroVelo International Bicycle Route 13, "Iron Curtain" passes through Szentborbás.
Szentborbás is aÁrpád-era settlement that existed already before theMongol invasion. In 1324 it was mentioned asZenthbarrabás and belonged to theZselicszentjakab Abbey. According to Pope Gregory, the village chapel was built before 1216. It appeared already in the1332-1337 papal tithe register. In 1375 it was owned by theDersfi de Szerdahely family. According to the tax register of 1536 it was a possession ofBálint Török. In the tithe register of thePannonhalma Abbey in 1660 it was the possession of theCustodiatus of theDiocese of Székesfehérvár and partly of theZselicszentjakab Abbey.
In 1733 it was uninhabited. After 1757 it was reestablished. During the second half of the 18th century Roman CatholicCroats andŠokci settled there. In the 1772 census it was described as a fully Croatian village. Most of its citizens originated fromVirovitica County.[3] The Croatian costume still can be seen in the village on festive occasions.
