Syrian Railways Corporation (Arabic:مؤسسة الخطوط الحديدية السورية,romanizedMuʾassasah al-Khuṭūṭ al-Ḥadīdīyah al-Sūrīyah,[2]French:Chemins de fer syriens,CFS) is a government-owned national railway operator for the state ofSyria, subordinate to theMinistry of Transport.[3] Syrian Railways is the owner ofSyria's railway network.

It was established in 1956 and is headquartered inAleppo.[4] For operational purposes the company is divided into three regions: Central, Eastern and Northern.

It was established in 1956. Previously, it was calledArabic:المؤسسة العامة للخطوط الحديدية السورية,romanizedal-Muʾassasah al-ʿĀmmah lil-Khuṭūṭ al-Ḥadīdīyah al-Sūrīyah, which translates into English as the General Establishment of Syrian Railways. At the end of 2004 CFS employed around 12,400 staff.
