Sylvia Pantel (born 1 January 1961) is a German politician who was a member of theBundestag from the state ofNorth Rhine-Westphalia from 2013 to 2021. From 1996 to 2024, she was a member of theChristian Democratic Union (CDU).[1]
Pantel first became a member of the Bundestag in the2013 German federal election, representing theDüsseldorf II district.[2] In parliament, she was a member of the Committee on Families, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth.[3]
Pantellost her seat in the2021 German federal election.[4]
Ahead of the2021 Christian Democratic Union of Germany leadership election, Pantel publicly endorsedFriedrich Merz to succeedAnnegret Kramp-Karrenbauer as the party’s chair.[5]
