Syed Mehdi Shah (Urdu:سید مہدی شاہ) is a Pakistani politician who is currently serving as the 8thGovernor of Gilgit-Baltistan since 15 August 2022.[1] Previously, he served as the firstChief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan from 2009 to 2014. He has also served as the President of thePakistan People's Party at Gilgit-baltistan.[2][3][4]
He contested in the2020 Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly election from the constituencyGBA-7 (Skardu-I),[5] but lost toRaja Zakaria Khan Maqpoon.[6]
