In August 2020, Chandler was cast in areboot of the 1998 slasher filmUrban Legend set to be written and directed byColin Minihan.[4] However, in October 2022, Minihan revealed that the film had been cancelled due to "bad timing".[5] Chandler ended up making her film debut with a supporting role inOlivia Wilde's psychological thrillerDon't Worry Darling (2022).[6]
In January 2021, she was cast in theFX miniseriesPistol, a series about theSex Pistols. Chandler playedChrissie Hynde, a founding member ofthe Pretenders.[7] She learned how to sing and play guitar to prepare for the role.[8] That same year, it was announced that Chandler would star inSusannah Grant's sex trafficking drama seriesCoercion forShowtime.[9] As of August 2024, production for the series has yet to start. Chandler has since appeared in theApple TV+ mystery drama seriesSugar (2024), alongsideColin Farrell.[10]
In May 2023, she was cast in the lead role ofNoah Hawley'sAlien: Earth forFX on Hulu.[11] Filming for the series wrapped in July 2024,[12] and is set to be released in 2025.
