Sydney Arthur Fisher,PC (June 12, 1850 – April 9, 1921) was aCanadian politician.
Born inMontreal,Canada East, he was educated at theHigh School of Montreal,McGill University, and finallyTrinity College, Cambridge.[1]
A farmer, he first ran for theHouse of Commons of Canada in an 1880by-election for the riding ofBrome. Although defeated, he was elected in1882 and1887. ALiberal, he lost to theConservative candidateEugène Alphonse Dyer by 3 votes in the1891 election. He was elected again in the1896 election and was re-elected in1900,1904, and1908. He was defeated in1911 and in a 1913 by-election. From 1896 to 1911, he was theMinister of Agriculture.

He was the uncle ofPhilip Sydney Fisher.
