TheSxeʼxnʼx (Thompson:Sx̣íx̣nx)[1] are a First Nations people of the Lower Nicola Valley in the southernSouthern Interior of theCanadian province ofBritish Columbia. They are part of the largerNlaka'pamux (Thompson) people and closely connected to theScw'exmx, a major subgroup of theNlakapamuxtsin-speaking peoples. Their primary community is Shackan orLower Nicola, just west ofMerritt ("Shackan" comes from Scw'ex, the name of the Nicolas River).[2]
The band government is theShackan Indian Band, which is a member of theNicola Tribal Association.
