Switzerland (named afterthe European country of the same name) is anopen-sourcenetwork monitoring utility developed and released by theElectronic Frontier Foundation (EFF).[1] Its goal is to monitor network traffic between two systems running the program to see if the user'sInternet service provider is violatingnetwork neutrality, likeComcast did in 2007 with theBitTorrent protocol.[2]
Switzerland was featured in the Technology section of an issue ofNew Scientist in August 2008.[3]
