Sweep is afree and open-sourceddigital audio editor and live playback tool forUnix-like systems such asLinux andBerkeley Software Distribution (BSD). Supported sound formats includeMP3,AIFF,WAV,Speex andOgg Vorbis. Originally developed with the support ofPixar, the most notable feature of Sweep is its stylus-like cursor tool calledScrubby.[2] It is released under the terms ofGNU General Public Licence.
Sweep operates on various 8/16/24/32 bit PCM files. It also supports major formats such as GSM 6.10, G721, G723, NIST Sphere, and DWVW.
