Sweden was represented at theEurovision Song Contest 1975 with the song "Jennie, Jennie", written and performed byLasse Berghagen. The Swedish participating broadcaster,Sveriges Radio (SR), selected its entry throughMelodifestivalen 1975. In addition, SR was also the host broadcaster and staged the event at theSankt Eriks-Mässan inStockholm, after winning theprevious edition with the song "Waterloo" byABBA.

Melodifestivalen 1975 was the selection for the 16th song to representSweden at theEurovision Song Contest. It was the 15th time thatSveriges Radio (SR) used this system of picking a song. 10 songwriters were selected by SR for the competition. The final was held in the SR television studios inGothenburg on 15 February 1975, presented byKarin Falck and was broadcast onTV1 but was not broadcast on radio.

At the ESC final inStockholm, Berghagen performed 18th, and sang the song in English. This year, the12 points voting system was for the first time in use. He did not receive any 12s (Sweden's highest score was 8 points from Norway and Turkey), but finished 8th (out of 19) with 72 points.[1]
