ThePrizren–Timok dialect (Serbo-Croatian:призренско–тимочки дијалект /prizrensko–timočki dijalekt) is the name given by Serbian linguists to classify transitionalTorlakian dialects spoken in Eastern and SouthSerbia andKosovo – an area spanning fromPrizren in the south to theTimok River in the north – as subdialects ofOld-Shtokavian. Its eastern border, starting fromZaječar, roughly forms the border withBulgaria.
The Vranje speech belongs to the Prizren-South Morava type in the Prizren-Timok dialect zone (Ivic 1985: 115-118)
