ThePrizren–Timok dialect (Serbo-Croatian:призренско–тимочки дијалект /prizrensko–timočki dijalekt) is the name given by Serbian linguists to classify transitionalTorlakian dialects spoken in Eastern and SouthSerbia andKosovo – an area spanning fromPrizren in the south to theTimok River in the north – as subdialects ofOld-Shtokavian. Its eastern border, starting fromZaječar, roughly forms the border withBulgaria.

  • Prizren–South Morava subdialect [sr] (призренско–јужноморавски поддијалект /prizrensko–južnomoravski poddijalekt)
    • Vranje speech (врањански говор /vranjanski govor)[1]
    • Gora speech (горански говор /goranski govor)
  • Svrljig–Zaplanje subdialect [sr] (сврљишко–заплањски поддијалект /svrljiško–zaplanjski poddijalekt)
  • Timok–Lužnica subdialect [sr] (тимочко–лужнички поддијалект /timočko–lužnički poddijalekt)
    • Pirot speech (пиротски говор /pirotski govor)
    • Crna Trava speech (црнотравски говор /crnotravski govor)
    • Lužnica speech (лужнички говор /lužnički govor)
