Suretone Records[1] is an American record label established in 2006 as a joint venture byJordan Schur, former CEO ofGeffen Records,[2] andInterscope Records,[3] to release alternative rock music.[4][5] Several high-profile bands such asWeezer,The Cure,Rooney,New Found Glory andAngels and Airwaves remained onGeffen and carried the Suretone imprint.[4][6]
The label shut down in 2010 after the failures of albums byChris Cornell andShwayze. In 2016, the Suretone label returned with distribution through theAlternative Distribution Alliance.
