Sukanta Majumdar is an Indian politician. He was elected to theLok Sabha, lower house of theparliament of India fromBalurghat,[1]West Bengal in the2024 Indian general election. He served the 10th state president ofBharatiya Janata Party,West Bengal. He has done hisPhD inBotany from theUniversity of North Bengal.[2][3][4] From 20 September 2021 to July 2025, he served as president of the Bharatiya Janata Party in West Bengal.[5][6]

Criminal case

He is facing a criminal case under Section 307 of theIndian Penal Code, which relates to attempt to murder.[7]
