Suffolk Coastal was alocal government district inSuffolk,England. Its council was based inMelton, having moved from neighbouringWoodbridge in 2017. Other towns includeFelixstowe,Framlingham,Leiston,Aldeburgh, andSaxmundham.

The district was formed on 1 April 1974, under theLocal Government Act 1972, as a merger of themunicipal borough ofAldeburgh, along withFelixstowe,Leiston-cum-Sizewell,Saxmundham andWoodbridgeurban districts, andBlyth Rural District andDeben Rural District. The population of the district was 124,298 at the 2011 Census.[1]

Suffolk Coastal district was merged withWaveney district on 1 April 2019 to form the newEast Suffolk district.[2]
