She has directed five films since 1984, the first beingThe Drover's Wife, a short film based on a story byMurray Bail.[1]
She won the "Golden Alexander" (first prize) for Best Feature-Length Film at theThessaloniki International Film Festival for her filmRoad to Nhill (1997).[citation needed] Her filmJapanese Story, starringToni Collette, was screened in theUn Certain Regard section at the2003 Cannes Film Festival.[2]
