Studio Universal Latin America is a 24-hourcable televisionchannel broadcasting from New York, United States, targeted forMiddle andSouth American audiences.
It is owned byUniversal Networks International, a division ofNBCUniversal, and was launched inLatin America in September, 1997.[citation needed] It mostly airsAmericanmovies andfilms and someseries and is a sister channel toUniversal TV in the region. It broadcasts in four feeds,Brasil,Mexico,Argentina andLatam. From its launch until January 31, 2010, the channel was namedHallmark Channel. It was renamedStudio Universal on February 1, 2010.[1][2]
The Brazilian feed of the channel, as well as its sister network,USA Network, are operated since Early-October 2023, by thejoint venture between Universal Networks International andOrganizações Globo-ownedGlobosat which already operated the Brazilian version ofUniversal TV.[3]
