Stuart River Provincial Park is aprovincial park inBritish Columbia,Canada. It is located in two sections north and northwest ofVanderhoof[1] along theStuart River southeast ofStuart Lake and the city ofFort St. James. The upper section is located at54°13′20″N124°00′00″W / 54.22222°N 124.00000°W /54.22222; -124.00000 and comprises c.7391 ha. while the lower, eastern section is centred at54°03′00″N123°37′00″W / 54.05000°N 123.61667°W /54.05000; -123.61667 and comprises c.3390 ha. and is within the GreaterPrince George area. The upper site, which is located around the confluence of theStuart andNechako Rivers, includes the site ofChinlac, aDakelh village whose inhabitants were massacred and enslaved by theTsilhqot'in ofAnahim Lake c. 1745.[2][3]
