STRIX Television is aSwedishtelevisionproduction company that was founded in 1988. The Swedish mother company, at the time owned byMTG, had offices inAmsterdam,Copenhagen,Oslo,Tel Aviv andPrague. Today, there are two individual companies named Strix,Strix Television in Sweden andStrix Televisjon inNorway, both owned byFremantle.
It is a major international contributor to the format ofreality television known as 'Survivor'. Since 1997 Strix has producedExpedition Robinson for an ever-increasing audience throughoutEurope. The company has also developed, produced and distributed other reality formats, such asThe Farm,The Bar, and Harem.[1][2]
