Background

[edit]

A bout betweenBobby Lashley andShane Del Rosario had previously been agreed upon,[4] however the fight was scrapped from the card.[5] Bobby Lashley was then expected to face Yohan Banks,[6] however the bout needed commission approval, which was subsequently denied.[7] Jimmy Ambriz was then targeted by the promotion as late replacement for Banks.[8] However, Strikeforce decided not to go with Ambriz, despite being cleared by the Florida State Boxing Commission.[9]Wes Sims stepped in on short notice to fight Lashley.[10]

The bout betweenJoe Riggs andJay Hieron was scheduled to air live on EASportsMMA.com[11] but the load on the server brought down the stream.[12]

The event drew an estimated average of 517,000 viewers onShowtime.[13]
