Dulwich Outdoor Gallery (DOG) is a collection ofstreet art in south London,[2] with works based on traditional paintings inDulwich Picture Gallery.[3][4] The DOG was established byIngrid Beazley, a pioneer of promoting street art.[5]
TheDulwich Street Art Festival was held in 2013 showcasing the artworks.[6][7][8] It was a collaboration between the Dulwich Picture Gallery education department and Street Art London.[9] Dulwich Outdoor Gallery consists of a collection of murals painted by international contemporary street artists, based onBaroque paintings in the Dulwich Picture Gallery collection.[10] The artworks are in a number of locations around Dulwich.[11]
In 2012, the street artistStik collaborated withIngrid Beazley of Dulwich Picture Gallery to recreate old master pictures on the streets of Dulwich.[12] In 2013, the street artistsConor Harrington,[1]MadC,Mear One,Thierry Noir,Nunca,Phlegm,Reka One,Remi Rough and System, andROA also became involved to form the Dulwich Outdoor Gallery.Subsequently, some of the street artists were commissioned to produce artworks as book covers.[13]
