Stream TV was an Italiandigitalsatellite televisionpay TV company launched in 1993[1] and closed in 2003, due to the merge withTELE+ intoSky Italia.[2]
Stream S.P.A. was the service provider, a television company owned bySTET. It was founded in 1993 byMiro Allione, a STET managing director.[3] Stream TV started broadcasting as adigitalpay TV company and later includedsatellite television. The company had conflicts withTELE+ for several years, especially for the broadcasting rights of the Italian football leagueSerie A. In 1999, part of the company was sold byTelecom Italia toNews Corporation.[4] In March 2003,TELE+ and Stream merged intoSky Italia.[2]
