Steven John Barry (born 25 October 1950) is a retiredWelshrace walker, born inCardiff.[1]
A member of theCardiff Amateur Athletic Club and Roath Walking Club, Barry won thegold medal in the30 km road walk at the1982 Commonwealth Games representingWales.[2][3]
Barry representedGreat Britain at the1984 Los Angeles Olympics in the20 km walk, finishing 24th. Barry retired from the sport through injury following the Olympics.[1][3][4]
Barry won theBBC Wales Sports Personality of the Year in 1982.[5]
