Stephen Warbeck (born 21 October 1953)[1] is an English composer, best known for hisfilm and television scores.
Warbeck was born inSouthampton,Hampshire. He first became known for the music forPrime Suspect and won anOscar for his score forShakespeare in Love. He won theDrama Desk Award for Outstanding Music in a Play in 1994.
Warbeck attendedBristol University, and began his career as an actor. He plays the accordion and co-leads the groupThe hKippers (the 'h' is silent)[2] withPaul Bradley.
In 2018, he directed his first feature film,The Thin Man, which was retitledThe Man in the Hat[3] in France, starringCiarán Hinds andStephen Dillane.[4]
