Stephanie Kate Cain (born 4 June 1996) is anAustralian rules footballer playing for theEssendon Football Club in theAFL Women's (AFLW). She previously played for theFremantle Football Club from 2017 to season 6. Cain has served asEssendon co-captain since season 7.

AFL Women's career

Cain was drafted by Fremantle with their 14th selection and 109th overall in the2016 AFL Women's draft.[2] She made her debut in the 32-point loss to theWestern Bulldogs atVU Whitten Oval in the opening round of the2017 season.[3] She played every match in her debut season except for the Round 5 matchCollingwood against due to being omitted,[4] and finished with six matches.[5] She was delisted at the end of the 2017 season.[6] In October she was subsequently redrafted by Fremantle with their first pick in the2017 draft. Cain ruptured theanterior cruciate ligament in her left knee in the opening quarter of the first game of the2020 AFL Women's season, causing her to miss the remainder of the season.[7][8]
