TheSteel City Sparks was anAmerican women's soccer team. The team was a member of theWomen's Premier Soccer League, the third tier of women's soccer in theUnited States andCanada.

History

The Sparks formed in 2003 to develop soccer for women in thePittsburgh area. Their first coach was Erik Ingram. In 2005, the team left the league, and the franchise was terminated.[1]

The Sparks played their home games at the Ellis Athletic Field inPittsburgh, Pennsylvania.[2]

The Sparks squad was composed of formerWUSA,W-League, andinternational players,[3] includingAnnie Lowry,Katie Barnes, Chrissie Abbott andLisa Stoia.[4]
