Stanislav Lapkes (Belarusian:Станіслаў Лапкес; born 3 March 2006) is aBelarusianfootballer who plays as agoalkeeper forMajor League Soccer clubColumbus Crew.
Lapkes is the son of BelarusianOlympicfencerDmitry Lapkes.[1] He began playing in the academy ofDynamo Minsk at age six and quickly became the team's starting goalkeeper. He remained with the club until his family moved to theUnited States in 2019. Shortley thereafter, he was invited to join the academy of theColumbus Crew ofMajor League Soccer following a trial. In 2017, the club reached the final of the 2022 MLS Next U17 Cup, eventually falling to the academy of thePhiladelphia Union. Lapkes was named the goalkeeper of the tournament for his performances.[2]
In the May 2022, Lapkes signed an amateur contract, joiningColumbus Crew 2 ofMLS Next Pro. He made his debut on 16 April 2023 in a victory overNew England Revolution II. That season, he made sixteen league appearances, earning five shutouts.[2] He signed his first professional contract with the club on September 7, 2023. On October 22, 2023, he became the youngest goalkeeper to start in the MLS Next Pro Cup.[3] During the2024 Major League Soccer season, the Crew called up Lapkes to the first team five times without the player making an appearance. Lapkes signed a contract with the Columbus Crew first team in January 2025. TheHomegrown Player deal would see the player remain at the club through the 2027 season, with the Crew holding an option for an additional two years.[4] Lapkes was one of four MLS NEXT Pro goalkeepers selected to compete in the Goalie Wars skills competition as part of the2024 MLS All-Star Game.[5] He made hisU.S. Open Cup debut on March 19, 2025 in a 4–1 victory over NY Renegades FC.[6]
