Norwegian parliamentary committee for foreign affairs and defense

TheStanding Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence (Norwegian:Utenriks- og forsvarskomiteen) is astanding committee of theParliament of Norway. It is responsible for policies relatingforeign affairs,military,development cooperation,Svalbard or in other polar regions and matters in general relating to agreements between Norway and other states or organizations. It corresponds to theMinistry of Foreign Affairs and theMinistry of Defence.[1] The committee has 16 members and is chaired byIne Eriksen Søreide of theConservative Party.[2] The members also sit on theEnlarged Committee on Foreign Affairs and theEuropean Committee.
