Stage 6 Films, Inc. is an American production and distribution label[1] ofSony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions that acquires and produces feature films to be released either theatrically, on demand, or throughstreaming services. Once a film is finished, Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions will decide if the film will be released theatrically or on a different platform.[1]
Founded in 2007, the film division takes its name from the location of its main office, the Stage 6 building atSony Pictures Studios in Culver City, California (originally an actual sound stage used for such films asThe Wizard of Oz).[2][3]
