Jesús Manuel Báez (born February 26, 2005) is a Dominican professionalbaseballinfielder in theSt. Louis Cardinals organization.

Báez signed with theNew York Mets as an international free agent in January 2022.[1] He made his professional debut that season with theDominican Summer League Mets.

Báez played 2023 with theFlorida Complex League Mets and 2024 with theSt. Lucie Mets andBrooklyn Cyclones.[2][3] He opened the 2025 season with St. Lucie and was later assigned to Brooklyn.[4]

On July 30, 2025, the Mets traded Báez,Nate Dohm, and Frank Elissalt to theSt. Louis Cardinals in exchange for pitcherRyan Helsley.[5] The Cardinals assigned him to thePeoria Chiefs.[6]

Ian McAllister Bedell (born September 5, 1999) is an American professionalbaseballpitcher in theSt. Louis Cardinals organization.

Bedell attendedCentral High School inDavenport, Iowa, where he played baseball. As a sophomore in 2016, he went 7–1 with a 1.70 ERA over53+23 innings.[7] After reclassifying and graduating early, he enrolled at theUniversity of Missouri to playcollege baseball.

As a freshman at Missouri in 2018, Bedell pitched to a 6.17 ERA over11+23 innings.[8] As a sophomore in 2019, he made 18 appearances and went 3–1 with a 1.56 ERA and 36 strikeouts over40+13 innings.[9] That summer, he played in theCape Cod Baseball League for theWareham Gatemen where he was 4–0 with a 0.59 ERA over30+23 innings, was named a league All-Star, and won the league's Outstanding Pitcher award.[10][11][12] Bedell moved into thestarting rotation for the 2020 season, starting four games and pitching to a 3.70 ERA before the season was cancelled due to theCOVID-19 pandemic.[13] Bedell was selected by theSt. Louis Cardinals in the fourth round with the 122nd overall pick of the shortened2020 Major League Baseball draft.[14][15] He signed for $800,000.[16]

Bedell made his professional debut in the 2021 with thePeoria Chiefs.[17] He pitched2+23 innings before undergoingTommy John surgery.[18] Bedell returned to play in August 2022 and spent the season rehabbing with theFlorida Complex League Cardinals andPalm Beach Cardinals, totaling a 3.18 ERA over5+23 innings.[19] Bedell returned to Peoria for the 2023 season.[20] Over 27 games (19 starts), he went 4–2 with a 2.44 ERA and 106 strikeouts over 96 innings and was named theMidwest League Pitcher of the Year.[21] Bedell was assigned to theSpringfield Cardinals to open the 2024 season.[22] In mid-June, he was promoted to theMemphis Redbirds.[23] Over 21 games (19 starts) between both teams, Bedell posted a 3-4 record and 4.85 ERA.[24] Bedell returned to Memphis to open the 2025 season, posting an 8.91 ERA over nine starts before being placed on theinjured list.[25]

Leonardo Abdiel Bernal (born February 13, 2004) is a Panamanian professionalbaseballcatcher in theSt. Louis Cardinals organization.

Bernal signed with theSt. Louis Cardinals as an international free agent in January 2021.[26] He made his professional debut that year with theDominican Summer League Cardinals. He played 2022 and 2023 with thePalm Beach Cardinals.[27]

In 2024, Bernal played with thePeoria Chiefs andSpringfield Cardinals. After the season he played in theArizona Fall League for theGlendale Desert Dogs.[28]

Won-Bin Cho (born August 20, 2003) is a South Korean professionalbaseballoutfielder in theSt. Louis Cardinals organization.

Cho signed with theSt. Louis Cardinals as an international free agent in January 2022.[29] He signed with the Cardinals rather than pursue a career in theKBO League.[30]

Cho made his professional debut that year with theFlorida Complex League Cardinals. In 2023, he played with thePalm Beach Cardinals.[31]

Braden Michael Davis (born April 9, 2003) is an American professionalbaseballpitcher in theSt. Louis Cardinals organization.

Davis attendedKeller High School inKeller, Texas, where he played baseball and earned All-State honors as a senior.[32] He played two years ofcollege baseball atSam Houston State University.[33] As a freshman in 2022, he pitched to a 1.62 ERA over 11 relief appearances. As a sophomore in 2023, he appeared in 24 games and went 5-4 with a 2.78 ERA over45+13 innings.[34] That summer, he played in theCape Cod Baseball League with theFalmouth Commodores.[35][36] He transferred to theUniversity of Oklahoma for the 2024 season, going 9-4 with a 4.30 ERA and 117 strikeouts over 92 innings and 16 starts.[37]

Davis was selected by theSt. Louis Cardinals in the fifth round of the2024 Major League Baseball draft and signed with the team.[38] He made his professional debut in 2025 with thePalm Beach Cardinals and was promoted to thePeoria Chiefs in July.[39]

Nathaniel Steven Dohm (born January 9, 2003) is an American professionalbaseballpitcher in theSt. Louis Cardinals organization.

Dohm attendedZionsville Community High School inZionsville, Indiana, where he playedbaseball.[40] After graduating, he enrolled atBall State University where he played one season ofcollege baseball, going 4–3 with a 5.71 ERA and 56 strikeouts over 51 innings.[41] After the season, he transferred toMississippi State University.[42] As a sophomore for Mississippi State in 2023, he appeared in 17 games and went 6–4 with a 4.07 ERA.[43][44] Dohm missed time as a junior in 2024 due to a forearm strain, but still appeared in eight games (six starts) in 2024, going 4–0 with a 1.23 ERA and 37 strikeouts.[45][46] After the season, he was selected by theNew York Mets in the third round of the2024 Major League Baseball draft, and signed with the team for $797,500.[47]

Dohm made his professional debut in 2025 with theSt. Lucie Mets.[48] In mid-May, he was promoted to theBrooklyn Cyclones.[49]

On July 30, 2025, Dohm (alongsideJesus Baez and Frank Elissalt) was traded to theSt. Louis Cardinals in exchange forRyan Helsley.[50] The Cardinals assigned him to thePeoria Chiefs.[51]

Skylar Dhiraj Hales (born October 24, 2001) is an American professionalbaseballpitcher in theSt. Louis Cardinals organization.

Hales attendedReno High School inReno, Nevada.[52] Undrafted out of high school, he attendedSanta Clara University to playcollege baseball for theBroncos. He enjoyed his best collegiate season as a junior in 2023, going 6–5 with a 3.42 ERA and 69 strikeouts over55+13 innings.[53] Hales participated in the 2023 MLB Draft Combine.[54] He was selected by theTexas Rangers in the fourth round of the2023 MLB draft and signed with them for a $565,000signing bonus.[52][55]

Hales split his debut professional season of 2023 between theACL Rangers of theRookie-levelArizona Complex League and theDown East Wood Ducks of theLow-ACarolina League, going a combined 0–1 with a 4.22 ERA and 11 strikeouts over10+23 innings. He opened the 2024 season with theHickory Crawdads of theHigh-ASouth Atlantic League, going 1–0 with a 4.39 ERA and 35 strikeouts over26+23 innings.[56] He was promoted in June to theFrisco RoughRiders of theDouble-ATexas League.[57] Over 24 relief appearances with Friso, Hales went 3-0 with a 2.10 ERA. He opened the 2025 season with Frisco and was promoted to theRound Rock Express of theTriple-APacific Coast League in June.[58]

On July 31, 2025, Hales (alongside Mason Molina and international bonus pool money) was traded to theSt. Louis Cardinals in exchange forPhil Maton.[59]

Philip "Ixan" Henderson (born January 29, 2002) is an American professionalbaseballpitcher in theSt. Louis Cardinals organization.

Henderson attendedClovis West High School inFresno, California and playedcollege baseball atCalifornia State University, Fresno.[60] He was selected by theSt. Louis Cardinals in the eighth round of the2023 Major League Baseball draft.[61]

Henderson made his professional debut in 2023 with thePalm Beach Cardinals. He pitched 2024 with Palm Beach and thePeoria Chiefs and pitched in the Arizona Fall League after the season.[62] Henderson played the 2025 season with theSpringfield Cardinals.[63] He was named the Texas League Pitcher of the Year.[64]

Joseph Daniel King (born February 23, 2001) is an American professionalbaseballpitcher in theSt. Louis Cardinals organization.

King graduated fromWoodside High School inWoodside, California, in 2019. That year, he was named the baseball player of the year in thePeninsula Athletic League's Ocean Division.[65] He attended theUniversity of California, Berkeley and playedcollege baseball for theCalifornia Golden Bears. TheSt. Louis Cardinals selected him in the ninth round of the2022 MLB draft. He signed with the Cardinals and reported toextended spring training.[66] He pitched for theGreat Britain national baseball team in the2023 World Baseball Classic.[67]

Quinn Jack Mathews (born October 4, 2000) is an American professionalbaseballpitcher in theSt. Louis Cardinals organization.

Mathews attendedAliso Niguel High School inAliso Viejo, California where he played baseball.[68] He went unselected in the2019 Major League Baseball draft and enrolled atStanford University to playcollege baseball

As a freshman in 2020, Mathews pitched 21 innings before the season was cancelled due to theCOVID-19 pandemic. For the 2021 season, Mathews went 5-2 with a 6.08 ERA over66+23 innings.[69] That summer, he played in theCape Cod Baseball League with theCotuit Kettleers.[70][71] With Stanford in 2022, Mathews appeared in 27 games and went 9-2 with a 3.08 ERA and 111 strikeouts over99+13 innings. He was selected by theTampa Bay Rays in the 19th round of the2022 Major League Baseball draft but did not sign.[72] For the 2023 season, Mathews went 10-4 with a 3.75 ERA and 158 strikeouts over124+13 innings and was named thePac-12 Conference Pitcher of the Year.[73] In a Super Regional game versus theTexas Longhorns, he threw a 156-pitch complete game in which he struck out 16 batters in an 8-3 Stanford win.[74][75] After the season, he was selected by theSt. Louis Cardinals in the fourth round (122nd overall) of the2023 Major League Baseball draft and signed.[76][77]

Mathews made his professional debut in 2024 with thePalm Beach Cardinals and was named the Cardinals' Minor League Pitcher of the Month for April.[78] In mid-May, he was promoted to thePeoria Chiefs,[79] and in mid-June, he was promoted again, to theSpringfield Cardinals.[80] He was selected (alongsideTink Hence) to represent the Cardinals at the 2024All-Star Futures Game atGlobe Life Field.[81] In late August, he was promoted to theMemphis Redbirds.[82] Over 26 starts between the four clubs, Mathews went 8-5 with a 2.76 ERA and 202 strikeouts over143+13 innings.[83] Mathews missed the beginning of the 2025 due to shoulder soreness.[84] He made two rehab starts for theFlorida Complex League Cardinals and Palm Beach before being assigned to Memphis.[85]

Deniel Ortiz (born August 24, 2004) is a Puerto Rican professionalbaseballthird baseman in theSt. Louis Cardinals organization.

Born inCaguas, Puerto Rico, Ortiz moved toLynn, Massachusetts when he was 12 and attendedLynn Classical High School andSt. Mary's High School.[89] He attendedRedan High School inRedan, Georgia, as a senior in 2022 and hit a home run in the state championship.[90] Ortiz played two seasons of college baseball atWalters State Community College, hitting .383 with 16 home runs and 55 RBIs as a freshman in 2023.[91] During the summer of 2023, he played in theAppalachian League for theKingsport Axmen.[92] In 2024, he played in theMLB Draft League for theState College Spikes.[93]

Ortiz was selected by theSt. Louis Cardinals in the 16th round of the2024 Major League Baseball draft. He made his professional debut in 2025 with thePalm Beach Cardinals and was promoted to thePeoria Chiefs during the season.[94] He was named the Cardinals Minor League Player of the Month for June.[95] Over 107 games between the two teams, Ortiz hit .300 with 13 home runs, 51 RBIs, and 39 stolen bases.[96]

Maxwel Scott Rajcic (born August 3, 2001) is an American professionalbaseballpitcher in theSt. Louis Cardinals organization.

Rajcic attendedLutheran High School of Orange County inOrange, California. As a junior in 2019, he went 8–1 with a 0.55 ERA and 78 strikeouts over63+13 innings.[97] That summer, he played in theUnder Armour All-America Baseball Game, the High School All-Star Game atProgressive Field, and for the18U USA Baseball team.[98][99][100] During his senior season in 2020, he gave up no runs and struck out 32 batters over22+23 innings before the season was cancelled due to theCOVID-19 pandemic.[101] Rajcic was considered a top prospect for the shortened2020 Major League Baseball draft but went unselected and enrolled atUCLA to playcollege baseball.[102]

As a freshman at UCLA in 2021, Rajcic served as the Bruins' closer, going 2–1 with a 1.65 ERA and 36 strikeouts over32+23 innings.[103] Over the summer of 2021, he playedcollegiate summer baseball with theCotuit Kettleers of theCape Cod Baseball League.[104][105] As a sophomore in 2022, he moved into the starting rotation and went 8–5 with a 3.28 ERA and 92 strikeouts over 85 innings and 15 starts.[106] After the season, Rajcic was selected by theSt. Louis Cardinals in the sixth round with the 187th overall pick in the2022 Major League Baseball draft.[107] He signed with the Cardinals for $600,000.[108]

Rajcic made his professional debut in 2023 with thePalm Beach Cardinals of theSingle-AFlorida State League.[109] In June, he was promoted to thePeoria Chiefs of theHigh-AMidwest League.[110] In mid-September, he was promoted to theSpringfield Cardinals of theDouble-ATexas League.[111] Over 23 starts between the three teams, Rajcic went 9–6 with a 2.48 ERA and 123 strikeouts over123+13 innings.[111] He was named theFlorida State League Pitcher of the Year Award for his performance with Palm Beach.[112] Rajcic returned to Springfield for the 2024 season.[22] Over 24 starts, he posted a 10-11 record and 4.33 ERA with 131 strikeouts over 131 innings.[113] Rajcic was assigned to Springfield to open the 2025 season and was promoted to theMemphis Redbirds in July.[114]

Sem Robberse (robber-sa; born October 12, 2001) is a Dutch professionalbaseballpitcher for theSt. Louis Cardinals ofMajor League Baseball (MLB).

Robberse was born inZeist,Netherlands. In 2018 he played forHonkbalclub Allen Weerbaar of theHonkbal Hoofdklasse (Dutch Major League), and posted a 1–3win–loss record, 1.80earned run average (ERA), and 12strikeouts in 20innings pitched.[115] The following season he played forBSC Quick Amersfoort, and in nine starts totalling 64 innings pitched Robberse went 6–3 with a 1.83 ERA and 62 strikeouts.[115] At an international tournament inBarcelona, Robberse was approached by scouts from several teams, including theToronto Blue Jays andKansas City Royals. He ultimately signed with the Blue Jays and was assigned to theRookie-levelGulf Coast League Blue Jays.[116] Robberse made five appearances for the Blue Jays in 2019 and went 2–0 with a 0.87 ERA and nine strikeouts in 1013 innings.[115]

The 2020 minor league season was canceled due to theCOVID-19 pandemic.[117] Due to travel restrictions Robberse was unable to return home to the Netherlands, and instead remained inClearwater, Florida.[116] Robberse began the 2021 season with theLow-ADunedin Blue Jays, and was later promoted to theHigh-AVancouver Canadians. In a combined 8823 innings, he posted a 5–7 record with a 4.36 ERA and 90 strikeouts.[115]

On July 30, 2023, Robberse andAdam Kloffenstein were traded to theSt. Louis Cardinals in exchange for pitcherJordan Hicks.[118]

On November 14, 2023, the Cardinals added Robberse to their40-man roster to protect him from theRule 5 draft.[119] He was optioned to the Triple–AMemphis Redbirds to begin the 2024 season.[120] In 19 games (17 starts) split between Memphis and the Single-APalm Beach Cardinals, Robberse compiled a 5-5 record and 4.38 ERA with 80 strikeouts across90+13 innings pitched.

Robberse was optioned to Triple-A Memphis to begin the 2025 season.[121] On May 14, 2025, it was announced that Robberse would miss the remainder of the season after undergoingTommy John surgery.[122]

Tekoah Clark Roby (tuh-KOH-uh; born September 18, 2001) is an American professionalbaseballpitcher for theSt. Louis Cardinals ofMajor League Baseball (MLB).

Roby attendedPine Forest High School inPensacola, Florida. He had committed to playcollege baseball forTroy University.[123] He was drafted by theTexas Rangers in the third round of the2020 Major League Baseball Draft.[124][125]

He spent his professional debut season of 2021 with theDown East Wood Ducks of theLow-A East, going 2–2 with a 2.45 ERA and 35 strikeouts over 22 innings. Roby missed the majority of that season with a strain of his right elbow but did not require surgery.[126] Roby spent the 2022 season with theHickory Crawdads of theHigh-ASouth Atlantic League, going 3–11 with a 4.64 ERA and 126 strikeouts over104+23 innings.[127][128] He opened the 2023 season with theFrisco RoughRiders of theDouble-ATexas League.

On July 30, 2023, Roby,John King, andThomas Saggese were traded to theSt. Louis Cardinals in exchange forJordan Montgomery andChris Stratton.[129]

Roby split the 2024 campaign between the Single–APalm Beach Cardinals and Double–ASpringfield Cardinals, making 10 starts and working to a 2–3 record and 6.57 ERA with 39 strikeouts across38+13 innings pitched. Following the season, the Cardinals added Roby to their40-man roster to protect him from theRule 5 draft.[130]

Roby was optioned to Double-A Springfield to begin the 2025 season.[131] In 16 starts split between Springfield and the Triple-AMemphis Redbirds, he accumulated a 7-4 record and 3.10 ERA with 87 strikeouts across78+13 innings pitched. On July 18, 2025, Roby underwentTommy John surgery, and is not expected to return to pitching until the 2027 season.[132][133]
