Sporting Pizarro is a traditional team of Tumbes. In the2001 Copa Perú and2003 Copa Perú, the team was eliminated byAtlético Grau ofPiura in the Regional Stage.[1] In the2005 Copa Perú, Sporting Pizarro was eliminated by Boca Juniors ofFerreñafe in the Regional Stage.[2]
In the2007 Copa Perú, the club qualified to the National Stage but was eliminated bySport Vallejo ofTrujillo in the quarterfinals.[3]
Sporting Pizarro won the2010 Liga Superior de Tumbes, when defeated Deportivo Pacífico ofZarumilla.[4]
In the2011 Torneo Intermedio, the club was eliminated bySport Huancayo in the Round of 16.
