Thesplanchnopleure is a formed duringembryogenesis when thelateral plate mesoderm splits into two layers. The inner (orsplanchnic) layer adheres to theendoderm, and with it forms the splanchnopleure (mesoderm external to thecoelom plus theendoderm).
