Spiesen-Elversberg is a municipality in thedistrict of Neunkirchen, inSaarland,Germany. It is situated approximately 4 km southwest ofNeunkirchen, and 15 km northeast ofSaarbrücken.
Anne-Karin Mayer, the German pop singer, was born in Spiesen-Elversberg in 1948[3]
The district of Elversberg has a popularfootball team, which is calledSV Elversberg, which plays at the URSAPHARM-Arena an der Kaiserlinde. The team has experienced success in recent years, rising three tiers in theGerman football league system. It now competes in Germany's 2nd level, the2. Bundesliga. It is currently the strongest team inSaarland, having surpassed1. FC Saarbrücken in 2023.
