You have no enemies, you say? Alas, my friend, the boast is poor. He who has mingled in the fray of duty that the brave endure, must have made foes. If you have none, small is the work that you have done. You’ve hit no traitor on the hip. You’ve dashed no cup from perjured lip. You’ve never turned the wrong to right. You’ve been a coward in the fight. ~CM

If you followed the link and saw what is now titled§ Iskandar323 (quick request), note that this notification is instead about the full thread at the bottom,§ Iskandar323. There were duplicate section names on AE, as there was also a declined request in the new "quick enforcement" section (which may be used to request reverts or page restriction) during the two-week block. ~ Jenson (SilverLocust💬)14:58, 18 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please see the above section. The Arbitration Committee is reviewing the allegations made at AE that you (and others) violated your topic ban. There is a section for you to reply if you wish.HJ Mitchell |Penny for your thoughts?14:41, 28 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Desert moves

Hi. This is to explain why I reverted your move fromRig-e Jenn toDesert of Spirits. Given that you supported your request to moveDasht-e Lut based on Google Ngrams findings (which I verified), it seems paradoxical that you movedRig-e Jenn despite Google Ngrams showingno books containing the destination name at all. In fact, when I exclude Discogs, Apple Music, and Facebook from the search to avoid matches on a piece of music by that title, Google Search turns up only 69 mentions of "Desert of Spirits" anywhere on the web. Further, even with those exclusions, most of those results are about the piece of music. Google Scholar returns no relevant matches for the name. Therefore, it seems unlikely (I'd really say impossible) that "Desert of Spirits" satisfies any applicable guideline for article naming.Largoplazo (talk)17:10, 2 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@Largoplazo: The logic was thatRig-e Jenn is also sufficiently obscure that there are no Ngrams hits for that either. And since the translation is the official one of theIran Tourism & Touring Organization, I thought that itmight be preferable to the raw foreign language term. But it's quite tentative.Iskandar323 (talk)17:39, 2 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Google Ngrams does suggest the existence of matches.[1]. Looking directly at Google Books, their corpus includes books in English by four authors that refer to "Rig-e Jinn".[2]Largoplazo (talk)19:25, 2 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Not so sure about the collection of fiction books, but I missed the Ngram trick about using parentheses to parse the hyphen — so well noted!Iskandar323 (talk)19:35, 2 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Ha, yes, I've found the Ngrams Advanced Help well worth reading!Largoplazo (talk)20:51, 2 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

It is a draft page for an overwhelmingly large subject that I would like to invite you to help develop if you are interested. You are welcome to edit it anytime, or if you prefer, can wait until I move it into mainspace (but that might take a while, as I would like it to be good enough to be featured on DYK if possible).Tiamut (talk)10:48, 3 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@Tiamut: Thanks for the invite. But it looks like I won't be able to support.Iskandar323 (talk)09:30, 8 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
That is unfortunate because from what I have seen of your edits, there is much you could contribute there. Been away from here for a long time and see there are hundreds of articles in desperate need of revision and creation by people with knowledge of the region and sources. Seems many of them are being blocked from contributing though.Tiamut (talk)15:20, 8 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you foryour contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits toMongol invasion of Syria when you modified the page, you introducedunknown parameters. Just because you specify|some_param=some_variable does not always mean that variable will display. The|some_param= must be defined in the template. You can look at the documentation for the template you are using but it is also helpful to use thepreview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and ensure that the values you have added are displaying correctly. Below the edit box is aShow preview button. Pressing this will show you what the page will look like without actually saving it. It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. Note I have likely fixed the error by now so check thehistory of the page to see how it was fixed. Arbitration motions regarding ARBPIA5 topic bans

The Arbitration Committee has resolved by aseries of motions that:

Iskandar323 (talk ·contribs) has violatedtheir topic ban. ([3][4][5]). Iskandar323 was previously warned by Tamzin on 21 February ([6]) and blocked for 2 weeks by ScottishFinnishRadish ([7]) on 26 November for violating their topic ban.

Since their topic ban inWP:ARBPIA5, Iskandar323 has been engaged in consistently non-neutral editing around the history of Judaism ([8][9][10][11][12][13][14]). This is a continuation of the misconduct that led to the original topic ban.

Iskandar323 is indefinitely banned from the English Wikipedia. This ban may be appealed twelve months after the enactment of this remedy, and every twelve months thereafter.

Levivich (talk ·contribs) has violatedtheir topic ban. ([15][16])

Levivich is warned for violating their topic ban imposed inPalestine-Israel articles 5.

Violations of restrictions directly imposed by the Arbitration Committee on a specific editor may be reported directly to the Committee viaWikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Clarification and Amendment (AR/CA). Unless there are privacy concerns or other factors that are unsuitable for public discussion, emails sent to the Committee about violations will not be acted upon and may be discarded without a response by the Committee. As a general principle, good-faith reports will be directed to AR/CA, and other reports will be ignored.

Based on an explicit finding that a topic ban from the Arab-Israeli conflict has been insufficient to prevent disruption, a rough consensus of administrators at the arbitration enforcement noticeboard may extend an existing topic ban to include other topics related to Israel, Israelis, Jews, Judaism, Palestine, Palestinians, Islam, and/or Arabs. They should cite at least one diff pertinent to each area into which the ban is extended.

I once, in your early days here, took you to task for what I perceived to be a certain partisan immaturity. I've admired ever since the way in which you have diligently applied yourself to taking that advice on board to become an exemplary, informed and fair-minded contributor to areas riddled by incompetence. Question

A significant number of people have agreed with Black Kite's suggestion that this motion be vacated and a full case initiated. While I recognize that this is very much rooted in a notion of fairness, I wonder if you are ready to face another potentially long and acrimonious trial or if you would prefer that the spotlight simply be turned off. -- SashiRolls 🌿 · 🍥09:58, 24 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
