It is bordered by theMediterranean region to the west, theEastern Anatolia region to the north,Syria (Rojava ) to the south, andIraq (Southern Kurdistan ) to the southeast.

Geography and climate [ edit ] The Southeastern Anatolia region has an area of 59,176 km2 and is the second smallest region of Turkey. It has asemi-arid continental climate with very hot and dry summers and cold and often snowy winters.
