TheSouth Mainland of theShetland Islands is the southernpeninsula ofMainland island.[1] It lies south ofHellister (60° 14′N). The greater southern part of the peninsula belongs to thecivil parish ofDunrossness. The rest belongs to the parishes ofLerwick andTingwall (small part of the latter).St Ninian's Isle is atidal island off its west coast.
