Hedlundia pseudofennica, also calledArran service-tree[2] orArran cut-leaved whitebeam, is a species of plant in the familyRosaceae. Endemic to theIsle of Arran in Scotland, it is threatened byhabitat loss.[1] It is thought to be a naturally occurring hybrid betweenH. arranensis andSorbus aucuparia, probably with additional backcrossing withS. aucuparia.Hedlundia arranensis is itself a hybrid betweenAria rupicola andS. aucuparia.Apomixis and hybridization are common in some groups ofSorbus species.[3]
